it's in my blood (a note from the baby)

Last week I overheard Mommy and Daddy talking one morning about what a beautiful day it was going to be. Mommy said she was in the mood to go fishing, but Daddy had to go to work. After a few minutes I heard Daddy say something about being sick (which seemed weird to me because right before that he had been throwing me up in the air and playing), and Mommy was packing some bags of snacks while Daddy got out these long sticks. Before too long we were in the car headed up a canyon to go fishing. I didn't even know what fishing was, but Daddy kept telling me I was born to be a fisherman so I just played along.

After a long drive we got out of the car, Mommy rubbed this white lotion all over me, and they hooked me onto Daddy's back so I could be as tall as him. I loved being up so high.

Mommy and Daddy got out their long sticks and started swinging them back and forth. It was funny to watch.
Luckily Ne Ne (that's my grandma) was there to keep me company while Mom and Dad played in the water with their sticks.
They made me wear this hat. I hate hats. I take them off.
But pretty soon I heard Daddy whistle and Mommy ran me down to the water to see what he had. It was a tiny shark!
I loved touching his eyeballs. He was slippery so I couldn't hold on to him. But I wanted to real bad.
Then Mommy yelled for Daddy and she had a shark too! Hers was bigger and prettier than Daddy's and she was very happy about that.My family likes this fishing business and they say I should get used to it because we are going to go a lot.
I liked it too, but I started to get real, real tired.

As soon as we got in the car to go home I fell fast asleep.
But I dreamed of catching big sharks all by myself one day. I guess I was born to be a fisherman.

Nice story. That could be a child's book story. I could totally see babies thinking that fish were tiny sharks. You guys are great parents.

Way to go Baby G!! I agree that your Daddy didn't look sick...:) Alaura loved fishing last time we took her. She loves playing with her fishing pole around the house. Very cute pictures and extremely well written.

that looks like such a fun day! and looks like the baby held up remarkably well! (as for the popsicles...i got the makers for $2.50 at bed, bath, and beyond and i even watered down her juice a bit before freezing it without her minding at all.) also, i don't know if you've heard of the munchkin mesh feeders--claire loved them. they're these little mesh nets that you can stick ice cubes, frozen fruit, watermelon, plums, grapes, all sorts of things that are yummy and cold that taste good on gums, but then you don't have to worry about choking hazards. here's a link, but i bought mine at target. http://www.munchkin.com/products/detail.html?pID=37
